Singer Nazu Akhand has released her new original song Jotner Tanpura after a long gap, earning praise from listeners and fellow artistes.
Known for focusing more on her music than publicity, Nazu has continued performing over the years and has now expanded her musical activities across several US states.
Besides her own performances, she also regularly arranges stage shows for Bangladeshi artistes in the United States, making her a popular figure among fellow musicians.
Written by Raju Chowdhury, Jotner Tanpura has been composed and arranged by Ehsan Rahi.
Following its release, several artistes have shared the song on social media and praised Nazu’s vocals.
“This is one of my most favourite songs. I had been eagerly waiting for its release for a long time. Now that it is finally out, I am receiving so much response and praise for the lyrics, melody and my singing that I often become emotional,” Nazu said.
She expressed gratitude to the lyricist and composer, saying the song has become an important addition to her musical journey and one she will always be proud of.
Composer Ehsan Rahi praised both the lyrics and Nazu’s versatility.
“Raju bhai has written every word and line beautifully, creating the foundation of the song. Nazu Akhond has once again proved how versatile and talented a singer she is,” he said.
Rahi added that he tried to create a melody that matched the song’s lyrics and emotions.
“If this harmony of lyrics, melody and voice finds even a small place in your hearts, all our efforts will be worthwhile,” he said.
