Naogaon University has officially launched its inaugural undergraduate (Honours) admission process, marking the first student intake since its establishment.
The admission activities for two departments are scheduled to commence on Monday.
According to a notice issued on Saturday by Registrar Md Alauddin, students assigned to A, B, and C units based on their merit and preference in GST cluster-based integrated admission test must complete their preliminary admission confirmation within the stipulated timeframe.
Admission procedures
The university authorities announced that the preliminary online admission process for the 2025-2026 academic session will be conducted via GST website from 12pm on Sunday until 11:59pm on 10 June.
Following the online process, applicants are required to physically submit their original SSC and HSC (or equivalent) marksheets and other necessary documents at the university.
These documents, along with a receipt for Tk5,000 preliminary admission fee, must be submitted in an A4-sized envelope clearly marked with the applicant’s name and GST roll number.
Submissions for A, B, and C units will be accepted in Room 310 (3rd Floor) of the Registrar’s Office between 10am and 3pm daily from 8 June to 11 June.
Upon submission, students will receive an acknowledgement slip signed and sealed by the relevant unit coordinator, which must be produced later to retrieve the original marksheets.
Official statements
Registrar Md Alauddin urged all selected students to complete the formalities within the deadline, adding that classroom activities will begin shortly after the conclusion of the admission cycle.
Vice-Chancellor Professor Mohammad Hasanath Ali described the commencement as a “glorious milestone” in the district’s history.
He remarked that the university, established in 2023, has transitioned from being a “dream” and a “few pages of a government gazette” into a reality, despite facing significant adversity, uncertainty, and attempts to hinder its progress.
“Naogaon University will not merely be a degree-awarding institution,” the vice-chancellor stated.
“It is destined to become a hub for knowledge creation, innovation, research, and the cultivation of human values, producing skilled administrators, legal experts, entrepreneurs, and researchers dedicated to human welfare”.
