Guitarist Sultan Raihan Khan Rana has left Nagar Baul, ending a long-standing musical partnership with frontman James that spanned over 15 years.
Rana, who was a key guitarist for the band for many years, is no longer part of the group’s live performances. His absence was noticed at a recent concert in Pabna during the Bangla New Year celebrations, after which his departure was confirmed following discussions within the band.
Following his exit, guitarist Ismamul Farhad Elin has officially joined Nagar Baul. Elin had already performed with the group earlier in March and also appeared alongside James at the Pabna show, signalling his new role in the lineup.
Band spokesperson Rubaiyat Thakur Robin confirmed the development, noting that Rana had been away from recent performances before the decision was finalised.
The current lineup of Nagar Baul now includes James on vocals and guitar, Ahsan Elahi Fanti on drums, Talukder Sabbir Shaon on guitar and Elin as the newest guitarist.
