Mobile financial service provider Nagad has launched a nationwide Durga Puja shopping campaign offering return air tickets to Sri Lanka and Cox’s Bazar, electric scooters and instant cashback to encourage digital payments during the festive season.
Under the campaign announced on Saturday, 17 October, customers making qualifying purchases at designated merchant outlets through Nagad Bangla QR using the Nagad app or USSD service (*167#) will be eligible for prizes based on their daily and weekly spending, the company said in a press release.
Customers spending Tk10,000 or more will have a chance to win a weekly Dhaka–Sri Lanka–Dhaka return air ticket, while those completing transactions totalling at least Tk5,000 in a single day will qualify for a daily Dhaka–Cox’s Bazar–Dhaka return ticket.
Shoppers accumulating purchases of Tk10,000 or more within a week will also enter a separate weekly draw for an electric scooter.
Nagad has divided the mega rewards into three tiers based on purchases across five designated merchant categories: apparel, footwear, online platforms, restaurants and superstores.
Winners will be chosen through a random selection process, with each customer eligible to receive only one mega prize throughout the campaign.
Alongside the prize draws, customers can receive Tk100 in instant cashback on purchases of at least Tk2,000 at designated apparel and footwear outlets when paying through Nagad Bangla QR.
Each customer can receive a maximum of Tk200 in cashback from two qualifying transactions during the campaign.
Nagad is also offering guaranteed cashback on payments made at designated superstores, restaurants and online shopping platforms, including Daraz, Othoba.com and Cartup.
Cashback will be credited automatically to customers’ Nagad accounts following successful transactions.
If a cashback payment fails because of account limits or technical problems, Nagad will reprocess it within 30 days after the campaign ends.
Nagad Head of Marketing HUM Mehedi Sajjad said the initiative was designed to make festive shopping more rewarding while encouraging cashless transactions.
“Durga Puja signifies endless joy, togetherness, and celebration for the Sanatan community. Through this campaign, we want to double the happiness of people celebrating the festival,” he said.
He said customers shopping for clothes, dining at restaurants or purchasing goods from superstores would have opportunities to win international travel prizes and electric scooters alongside instant cashback.
The company remains committed to making transactions easier and more rewarding while promoting cashless payments, he added.
The press release was issued by Nagad Assistant Vice President (Media and Communications) Lincoln Md Lutforzaman Sarker.
