Bangladesh Postal Department’s digital financial service Nagad set a new record for monthly transactions in October, processing over Tk 34,705 crore during the month.
With this milestone, Nagad surpassed all its previous records, reinforcing its position as one of the country’s most used mobile financial services, the company said in a press statement.
The MFS provider’s earlier highs were Tk 34,000 crore in March 2025 and Tk 32,000 crore in June 2024.
Nagad authorities congratulated its several crore registered customers, terming the achievement a reflection of users’ growing confidence and the organisation’s consistent service innovation.
Officials said disbursement of government allowances played a major role in October’s performance. The Department of Social Services and the Department of Women Affairs distributed allowances to 79 lakh beneficiaries through Nagad during the month.
Besides, cash-in, cash-out, send money, payment, and mobile recharge services contributed significantly to the record volume, further cementing Nagad’s lead among mobile financial service providers.
Nagad administrator Md Motasem Billah congratulated customers, employees, entrepreneurs, and partners on the achievement, saying success comes through collective effort and shared vision.
“As the digital financial service of the Bangladesh Postal Department, Nagad continues to move forward with improved services and stronger assurances for customers’ money,” he said, adding that user confidence in the current management has grown markedly compared to previous years.
Nagad also logged its highest single-day transaction on 15 October, when users carried out transactions worth Tk 1,645 crore.
Since its launch under the Bangladesh Postal Department, Nagad has maintained steady growth in both users and transactions, with thousands of new customers joining every day through its mobile app.
