Renowned Indian singer-songwriter Nachiketa Chakraborty has made a stirring return with his latest release ‘Dakhina Batash’, a song that captures the ebb and flow of human emotion through poetic storytelling and melodic depth.
Known for weaving life’s ordinary moments into unforgettable verses, Nachiketa brings his signature sensitivity to this track, blending nostalgia with a fresh musical arrangement by Dabbu.
Written by Sohel Alam, Dakhina Batash explores the delicate balance of joy, pain and reflection that defines relationships and the passage of time.
“I recorded the song a few months ago,” Nachiketa shared. “It’s the kind of music that speaks straight from the heart: full of emotion, simplicity and truth. I believe listeners will feel that connection instantly.”
The song is accompanied by a cinematic music video directed by Ishtiaque Ahmed, featuring Mir Rabbi, Zara Noor and Arabi Noman. The visual narrative intertwines with the lyrics, portraying love and longing through symbolic storytelling and rich colour palettes.
Director Ahmed admitted that working on a Nachiketa song came with its own pressure, “When you’re visualising his music, expectations are sky-high. That challenge pushed us to go beyond, to make something that truly does justice to his artistry.”
Part of a ten-song project from Spriha Multimedia, Dakhina Batash is both a tribute to Nachiketa’s timeless musical identity and a step into new creative terrain.
As lyricist Sohel Alam puts it, “This song mirrors life’s contradictions: connection and distance, love and loss. Having Nachiketa give voice to these emotions is a dream come true.”
Dakhina Batash is now streaming on Spriha Multimedia’s official YouTube channel, inviting listeners to lose themselves in its lyrical breeze.
