The government has appointed retired joint secretary Munshi Alauddin Al Azad as Secretary of the Ministry of Religious Affairs on a one-year contractual basis.
The Public Administration Ministry issued a notification on Sunday confirming the appointment.
According to the notice, Alauddin Al Azad has been appointed under Section 49 of the Government Service Act, 2018.
He must relinquish all professional, business, or employment ties with government, semi-government, or private institutions before assuming office.
The contract will be effective for one year from the date of joining. Other terms and conditions of the appointment will be governed by the contract agreement, the notification added.
