Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian by phone to discuss the ongoing tensions in the Middle East.
During the conversation, Modi voiced deep concern over the escalating conflict and the rising number of civilian casualties. He also emphasised India’s support for peace and stability in the region.
In a post on X, the Indian prime minister said dialogue and diplomacy remain essential to reduce tensions and prevent further escalation.
Modi also highlighted India’s key concerns amid the crisis. He stressed the need to ensure the safety and security of Indian nationals and maintain uninterrupted transit of goods and energy.
