Prime Minister’s Adviser and Member of BNP Standing Committee Mirza Abbas has shown significant improvement while undergoing medical treatment in Malaysia.
BNP Media Cell Member Shairul Kabir Khan confirmed the matter on Monday. He said following the advice of his doctors, Abbas is now permitted to meet with relatives and acquaintances for short periods.
Abbas’s family is keen to bring him back to Bangladesh before Eid-ul-Adha. However, any final decision will be based strictly on medical recommendations.
In a Facebook post, Afroza Abbas, his wife, said his physical condition has improved and he will return very soon. She sought prayers from everyone.
Abbas fell ill suddenly during Iftar on 11 March and was then admitted to Evercare Hospital in Dhaka, where he underwent brain surgery. Following his initial treatment, he was taken to Singapore for advanced medical care and was later moved to Malaysia for specialised treatment and rehabilitation.
