Metro rail operations were suspended on Sunday night after two individuals climbed onto the roof of a train at Dhaka’s Secretariat Station.
Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited (DMTCL), the operator of the metro rail, announced in a message that train services had been stopped from 8pm and could take longer to resume.
In its statement, DMTCL said metro rail operations were halted for safety reasons after the two individuals were seen on the roof of a train. The authorities apologised to passengers for the temporary inconvenience.
A video circulating on social media shows police bringing one of the individuals down.
A DMTCL source later said one person had climbed onto the train while the other jumped onto the metro track and ran, adding that efforts were under way to locate him.
