The Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited (DMTCL) has announced a special operating schedule for metro rail services during the upcoming Eid-ul-Adha government holidays.
However, services will remain fully suspended on Eid day.
In a press release issued on Thursday, the company said the revised timetable will remain effective throughout the holiday period.
Under the new schedule, the first train from Uttara North Station to Motijheel will depart at 6:30am, while the last train will leave at 9pm. From Motijheel, the first train towards Uttara North will operate at 7:15am, and the final service will depart at 10:10pm.
During the holiday period, train intervals will be adjusted based on passenger demand, operating every 20, 15, and 12 minutes at different times. Between 12pm and 9pm, trains will run at 15-minute intervals.
Around 140 train sets are expected to operate daily to manage increased passenger flow.
The authority also revised ticketing arrangements.
Single journey tickets and MRT or Rapid Pass top-up services will be available from 6:40am to 9:05pm.
From Motijheel Station, single journey ticket sales will close 15 minutes before the departure of the last train. Ticket counters and vending machines across all stations will shut down at 9:20pm.
However, passengers holding MRT or Rapid Pass cards will be able to access and travel within the metro rail network according to the scheduled services even after ticket counters close.
