Dhaka Metro Rail services will remain suspended only on the day of Eid-ul-Fitr, according to a notice issued by the Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited (DMTCL).
In a statement released on Monday, the DMTCL clarified that while the metro will be closed on the day of the festival, it will resume operations according to its regular schedule from the day after Eid.
The announcement comes as a seven-day government holiday for Eid-ul-Fitr commenced on Tuesday. This extended break for public officials was scheduled to include the Shab-e-Qadr holiday on 17 March, with Eid-ul-Fitr potentially falling on 21 March, subject to the sighting of the moon.
