A special measles-rubella (MR) vaccination campaign is scheduled to commence this Sunday across four city corporations in Bangladesh. The initiative will be conducted within the jurisdictions of the Dhaka North, Dhaka South, Mymensingh, and Barishal city corporations.

Mohammad Mahmudul Hasan, the Deputy Chief Information Officer confirmed the details of the upcoming programme.

The Health and Family Welfare Minister, Sardar Md Sakhowat Hossain, is expected to formally inaugurate the vaccination drive for children at the Nagar Bhaban auditorium of the Dhaka South City Corporation.

Under this government initiative, children aged between nine months and under 10 years will be eligible to receive the vaccine. The primary objective of the campaign is to protect children from highly infectious diseases, specifically measles and rubella.
