Md Sajjadur Rahman has been appointed as the new police commissioner (DIG) of Khulna Metropolitan Police (KMP).
The appointment was confirmed on Wednesday through a notification issued by the Police-1 branch of the Public Security Division under the Ministry of Home Affairs, by order of the President. The notification was signed by Deputy Secretary Tofael Ahmed.
According to the notification, Md Sajjadur Rahman, a BCS (Police) cadre officer currently serving as a Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of the Armed Police Battalion (APBn), has been transferred and posted as the KMP Police Commissioner.
The order, issued in public interest, specifies that the appointment will take effect immediately. Sajjadur replaces Mohammad Jahidul Hassan, the former KMP Commissioner, who was transferred to the position of DIG of the Mymensingh Range on 21 July.
