Prime Bank PLC has organised another session of its flagship initiative, “Empowering Youth–Season 2.0,” at United International University (UIU).
The event brought together industry leaders and aspiring graduates to bridge the gap between academia and the corporate world, reads a press release.
Bangladesh Bank Executive Director (Grade-I) Rup Ratan Pine attended the session as the chief guest. Addressing the students, he underscored the importance of both academic results and extracurricular involvement in securing strong career opportunities in the government and private sectors, including prospects at the central bank.
He further encouraged students to utilise Bangladesh Bank’s Student Banking facility to build financial literacy and savings habits early on, laying the groundwork for long-term financial stability and independence.
Prime Bank PLC Additional Managing Director and Head of Consumer and SME Banking Division M Nazeem A Choudhury delivered the keynote speech on employability and the essential skill sets required to thrive in today’s competitive job market.
Drawing from his own career journey, he shared reflections on the challenges he faced and the critical decisions that shaped his path, offering students a real-world perspective on how resilience and sound judgement can turn obstacles into stepping stones toward leadership.
Prime Bank Senior Vice President and Financial Inclusion and School Banking Head M M Mahbub Hasan spoke about the bank’s 31-year journey and its distinctive academic initiative, PrimeAcademia. He also emphasised the importance of financial inclusion and sound money management for students as they prepare to enter the workforce.
The programme was chaired by United International University Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Md Abul Kashem Mia, while UIU BBA Programme Director Prof Dr Salma Karim delivered the welcome address.
The panel highlighted the growing importance of innovation, financial literacy, digital transformation, and continuous learning in shaping the future of Bangladesh’s banking industry. They urged participants to build strong professional competencies and embrace ethical leadership as they chart their career paths.
The session concluded with an interactive Q&A, allowing students to engage directly with industry experts on career development.
A Live Mock Interview Session was also organised, providing participants with hands-on interview experience, constructive feedback, and insight into corporate recruitment practices.
