Former ministers Anisul Huq, Hasanul Haq Inu, and five others were shown arrested in connection with a murder case linked to mass uprising last year.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Arifur Rahman issued the order following a petition submitted by police investigators.
The five other individuals named in the court order include former ministers Amir Hossain Amu and Rashed Khan Menon, Awami League leader Abdur Razzaq, former lawmaker Barrister Syed Sayedul Haque Sumon, and Kazi Monirul Islam Monu.
According to case documents, 35-year-old Md Riaz was shot on 5 August 2024, and later died from his injuries. A murder case was subsequently filed with Jatrabari Police Station.
Authorities say the arrests are part of an ongoing investigation into violence connected to the political unrest in Dhaka during that period.
