The government has appointed Major General Mohammad Osman Sarwar as the new Director General of the National Telecommunication Monitoring Center (NTMC), replacing Major General Abdul Qayyum Mollah.

The change in NTMC’s leadership comes amid discussions over several administrative reshuffles ahead of the national elections.

Brigadier General Mohammad Osman Sarwar has been promoted to the rank of Major General and given charge of the NTMC. He succeeds Major General Abdul Qayyum Mollah, who has been recalled to the Bangladesh Army.

The Ministry of Public Administration issued the order on Sunday, stating that Osman Sarwar’s service has been transferred from the Bangladesh Army to the Ministry of Home Affairs for his new assignment.

According to the same order, Major General Abdul Qayyum Mollah will return to his duties in the Bangladesh Army.
