Education Minister ANM Ehsanul Hoque Milon on Friday said madrasa institutions must be brought under proper inspection to ensure accountability and improve academic standards.
He made the remarks while speaking at a views-exchange meeting with exam centre officials ahead of the HSC and equivalent examinations 2026 at the Dinajpur District Shilpakala Academy auditorium.
Officials from the Dinajpur Education Board, along with madrasa and technical education boards under the Rangpur division, attended the meeting.
The minister said the number of madrasa inspectors in the country was inadequate, making effective monitoring difficult.
“The number of inspectors in the madrasa education system is insufficient. As a result, proper supervision cannot be ensured. Madrasa boards need to coordinate with other boards to increase inspection activities,” he said.
He also said the government was working to introduce common question papers in relevant subjects across different education streams.
“We are already conducting exams using common question papers in general education boards. In the future, madrasa and technical education boards will also adopt common question papers in similar subjects,” he added.
On exam security, the minister warned that strict legal action would be taken against anyone spreading rumours regarding question paper leaks ahead of the upcoming HSC and equivalent examinations.
“No one will be spared for spreading rumours about question paper leaks. Legal action will be taken against them, and law enforcement will act accordingly,” he said.
At the beginning of the meeting, the minister sought feedback from college principals on academic outcomes of institutions under the board.
The meeting was chaired by Dinajpur Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education Prof Elias Ahmed.
