The price of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) has been increased again at the consumer level, with the Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission (BERC) raising the price of a 12 kg LPG cylinder by Tk 387 for April.

According to a BERC announcement issued on Thursday afternoon, the new price of a 12 kg LPG cylinder has been fixed at Tk1,728 up from Tk1,341.

The new rates were announced on Thursday by the Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission (BERC) and will come into effect from 6pm on Thursday.

According to the regulator, the retail price of private LPG (including VAT) has been fixed at Tk144.04 per kg at the consumer level.

The price of a 5.5-kg cylinder has been set at Tk792, 12.5 kg at Tk1,801, 15kg at Tk2,161, 16kg at Tk2,305, 18kg at Tk2,593 and 20kg at Tk2,881.

Similarly, a 22kg cylinder will cost Tk3,169, 25kg Tk3,601, 30kg Tk4,321, 33kg Tk4,753, 35kg Tk5,041 and 45kg cylinder Tk6,428.

In March, LPG prices remained unchanged in the local market.

However, on 23 February, the price of a 12kg cylinder was reduced by Tk15 to Tk 1,341, which had remained in effect until the latest revision.

Meanwhile, the price of autogas has also been increased for April. The VAT-inclusive retail price has been set at Tk 79.77 per litre, up by Tk17.94.

Previously, on March 2, the price of autogas was last adjusted, when it was reduced by Tk0.03 to Tk61.83 per litre at the consumer level.
