Two farmers were killed in separate lightning strike incidents in Dhamoirhat and Manda upazilas of Naogaon district on Thursday.
In Dhamoirhat upazila, Jalal Uddin, son of Mokhlesur Rahman, died on the spot after being struck by lightning while working in his cucumber field during rainfall in the morning.
Mokhlesur Rahman, officer-in-charge of Dhamoirhat Police Station, confirmed the information.
In Manda upazila, Pintu, son of Moslem from Chakrampur village, was struck by lightning while working in a paddy field.
He lost consciousness immediately after the strike.
Local people later took him to Manda Upazila Health Complex, where doctors declared him dead, said Masud Rana, officer-in-charge of Manda Police Station.
