Lawyers must play a significant role in addressing constitutional questions and implementing the rule of law, according to Akhter Hossen, Member Secretary of the National Citizen Party (NCP). He stated that lawyers have always played a pioneering role in resolving various state crises and complexities, and they must continue to fulfill that responsibility in the future.
He made these remarks as the chief guest at an Iftar and prayer gathering organised by the National Lawyers Alliance at the Supreme Court Bar Association premises on Monday.
Emphasising the importance of mutual relationships among lawyers, he said that if senior lawyers treat their juniors like younger brothers, the disparities within the profession will significantly decrease, and junior lawyers will be able to engage in practice with interest and enthusiasm.
The event was presided over by Advocate Azmal Hossain, Convener of the National Lawyers Alliance, an organization of NCP-supporting lawyers, and moderated by Member Secretary Advocate Khandaker Ershadul Bari.
Also speaking at the event were lawyer Mohammad Hossain (Lipu), the organization’s Chief Organizer Sakil Ahmad, NCP Joint Convener Mujahidul Islam Shahin, and Joint Member Secretary Zahirul Islam Musa, among others.
Following the discussions, special prayers were offered for the welfare of the country and nation, and Iftar was served in honor of the guests present.
