Labour and Employment Minister Ariful Haque Choudhury left Dhaka for Geneva on Friday to attend the 356th Governing Body Meeting of the International Labour Organization (ILO) in Switzerland.
Prime Minister’s Adviser Mahdi Amin will also arrive in Geneva to participate in the session, a handout said. Labour and Employment Secretary Md Abdur Rahman Tarafdar and other members of the Bangladesh delegation have already reached the city.
The minister and adviser are scheduled to hold bilateral meetings with labour ministers from various countries and senior ILO officials, in addition to attending the main session. The discussions will focus on Bangladesh’s efforts to develop the labour sector, generate employment, and implement international labour standards.
The delegation is expected to return on 4 April 2026.
