Ambassador of the Republic of Kosovo to Bangladesh, Lulzim Pllana, visited Chattogram Port on Wednesday (May 7), where he held discussions with port officials on enhancing maritime cooperation, trade connectivity and port development initiatives.
Upon his arrival, the Ambassador was received by Chattogram Port Authority Member (Harbour and Marine) Commodore Ahmed Amin Abdullah, who also exchanged a courtesy call with the visiting diplomat.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed various issues including maritime cooperation, logistics management, port development and the prospects of strengthening economic and trade relations between Bangladesh and the Balkan region. Special emphasis was placed on exploring future cooperation through the use of Albanian seaports, exchange of expertise, cargo handling and improving regional connectivity.
Both sides also expressed optimism about expanding collaboration in the maritime sector, information technology, education and port management in the coming days.
Following the meeting, a PowerPoint presentation highlighting the overall activities of Chattogram Port, ongoing development projects, capacity enhancement and modernization initiatives was presented at the port authority’s board room.
The Ambassador later toured different operational areas of the port and observed ongoing activities. He praised the overall management and operational performance of Chattogram Port.
Senior officials of the Chattogram Port Authority, including the Director (Transport), Director (Security), Chief Hydrographer, Chief Medical Officer and Chief Personnel Officer, were present during the visit.
