Syeda Sharmila Rahman Sithi, the widow of late Arafat Rahman Koko, continued her election outreach for the second day in the Dhaka-17 constituency on behalf of BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman for the upcoming 13th National Parliamentary Election.
On Sunday afternoon, she conducted a courtyard meeting with local residents at the T&T Colony, adjacent to the Karail slum, where she requested votes and prayers for Tarique Rahman from the women in attendance.
“We are overwhelmed by the public response in favour of the ‘Sheaf of Paddy’ (Dhaner Sheesh). Insha’Allah, the BNP will form the government in the coming days through the people’s votes,” she remarked.
Following the meeting, she visited a church near Badda Natun Bazar, engaging with members of the Christian community to seek their support for the ‘Sheaf of Paddy’ and Tarique Rahman. She was accompanied by BNP International Affairs Secretary Barrister Nasir Uddin Ahmed Asim, Barrister Mehnaz Mannan, and leaders from the local BNP and its associate organisations.
Earlier on Saturday, Sithi initiated her campaign activities with mass contact and the distribution of leaflets among traders at the Shahjadpur Subvastu Nazar Valley Market and the DNCC Market in the Gulshan area.
