‘Ananda Mela’ organiser Khan Mohammad Ali has been honoured by an educational institution in Los Angeles, United States, for his contribution to the Bangladeshi community and cultural activities.
On 2 August, Khan Mohammad Ali organised the Ananda Mela Award and Cultural Programme 2026 in Los Angeles.
Renowned South Asian actor Bobita received a lifetime achievement award at the event.
Three days later, a Los Angeles city auditorium hosted an award ceremony organised by Sanari’s Tutorial Centre, where 104 students were recognised in various categories.
Khan Mohammad Ali was also presented with a special honour at the event.
The award was handed to him by the institution’s CEO Abu Hanif Jewel and leaders of the Bangladeshi community.
Speaking about the recognition, Khan Mohammad Ali said, “I am truly delighted to receive this special honour from an educational institution run by Bangladeshis.
I am grateful to the institution and sincerely thankful to Abu Hanif Jewel for recognising me in this way.”
The Bangladeshi-owned institution, located in Los Angeles’ Little Bangladesh area, has reportedly provided education to around 5,000 students over the past 15 years.
Khan Mohammad Ali recently visited Dhaka, where he took part in various activities organised by his organisation.
