BNP Standing Committee member Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury has stated that there is no connection between the illness of BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia and the upcoming national election.
Speaking at a gathering on Friday at the Krishibid Institute in Dhaka, Khosru said, “Khaleda Zia’s illness will not impact the upcoming election. Her foremost desire has always been for the people to elect a government through voting.”
Khosru also stated that all preparations for Khaleda Zia’s treatment abroad have been completed.
“There is no connection between her illness and any delay in the election. She has consistently fought for the establishment of democracy. Once the doctors give their approval, she will be taken to London for treatment,” he said.
He also confirmed that arrangements for the air ambulance from Germany to take Khaleda Zia abroad for medical treatment have already been made.
