BNP Chairperson and former Prime Minister Khaleda Zia will attend a reception at Senakunja on Friday afternoon to mark Armed Forces Day.
The event is scheduled for the afternoon, and she will leave her Gulshan residence around 3:30pm to join the programme. Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus will attend as the chief guest.
BNP Media Cell officer Shairul Kabir Khan confirmed her participation, saying, “Khaleda Zia has agreed to attend the Senakunja programme. She will join following the advice of the medical board.”
Last year, after the fall of the Awami League government, Khaleda Zia attended a reception at Senakunja for the first time in a public programme. Before that, she appeared publicly on 5 February 2018 during a visit to Sylhet.
This year, the reception will also host Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman, Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, and several other senior BNP leaders.
