The Jahangirnagar University Central Students’ Union (JUCSU) election results will be announced between 8pm to 10pm on Friday, said Election Commission Member Secretary Proctor Professor AKM Rashidul Alam.
Confirming the matter to TIMES of Bangladesh, Alam added that the counting of votes in three more halls remain pending.

‘Counting delay to be addressed’
The delay in completing the vote count for the JUCSU election has increased tension, as more than 19 hours have passed since the voting ended without a conclusion.
The manual counting process has caused frustration among candidates and voters alike, who are expressing dissatisfaction over the prolonged wait.
Commenting on the issue, Jahangirnagar University (JU) Vice-Chancellor Professor Kamrul Ahsan said the matter is being closely monitored, and the Election Commission will address the issue.
He made these comments following the Namaz-e-Janaza of polling officer and Assistant Professor Jannatul Ferdous at Preetilata Hall on Friday.
He said, “The delay in vote counting is under observation, and the election commissioner will look into the matter. I will personally visit and speak with the officials to ensure that the counting process is completed as quickly as possible.”
Meanwhile, Election Commission Member Mohammad Mafruhi Sattar said, “The counting of votes is currently taking place at eight tables, and it will be expanded to ten tables by this evening. We expect to announce the results tonight.”
