Jatiya Mukti Council has announced plans for nationwide protests on 2 March, condemning the recent joint military attack by the United States and Israel on Iran.

In a statement issued Saturday, the organisation’s secretary, Faizul Hakim, described the strikes as a “naked attack” not only on the people of Iran but on all freedom-seeking people worldwide who oppose imperialism, colonialism, and Zionism.

Hakim rejected assertions by US President Donald Trump that the military action was intended to rescue the Iranian people, calling such claims a “trap” that Iran’s freedom-loving population would not fall into.

The statement linked the attack on Iran to broader US military interventions abroad, citing the 3 January operation in Venezuela, where American forces allegedly abducted President Nicolás Maduro and his wife, Cilia Flores, before seizing control of the country’s oil resources.

It also pointed to ongoing US machinations against Cuba and Israel’s continued military campaign in Gaza, which the council said enjoys direct American support.

Hakim urged the Bangladesh government to issue a strong protest against the strikes on Iran.

Jatiya Mukti Council said it would hold protest rallies in Dhaka and other locations across the country on 2 March to demonstrate against the joint US-Israel attack.
