Senior Human Rights Adviser to the UN Resident Representative Huma Khan has held a meeting with Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Dr Shafiqur Rahman.
The meeting took place on Monday morning at Dr Shafiqur Rahman’s office in Bashundhara, Dhaka, according to a press release.
At the beginning of the meeting, Huma Khan inquired about the Jamaat Ameer’s health and wished him well.
According to the release, during the meeting, Huma Khan engaged in an open discussion about the human rights situation in Bangladesh, the trial of enforced disappearances and killings, and overall issues. Various aspects of the reform proposals presented by Jamaat-e-Islami were also discussed.
Also present was Junior Human Rights Adviser to the UN Resident Representative Barrister Tajrian Akram Khan.
Additionally, Jamaat’s Nayeb-e-Ameer Syed Abdullah Mohammad Taher, Central Assistant Secretary Genera Advocate Ehsanul Mahbub Zubair, and Barrister Mir Ahmad Bin Kasem Arman were in attendance.
