Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Shafiqur Rahman has unveiled a three-day programme to commemorate Martyred Intellectuals Day and Victory Day.
These instructions were part of a public notice signed by DMP Commissioner SM Sazzat Ali and issued on Saturday.
The programme includes: On 14 December (Sunday), a discussion meeting will be held at the Krishibid Institution Hall in Dhaka to observe Martyrs’ Intellectuals Day.
On 15 December (Monday), a discussion meeting will be held at the Institution of Diploma Engineers (IDEB) in to observe the Great Victory Day.
On 16 December (Tuesday), a youth marathon will be held at 7am at the historic Suhrawardy Udyan in the capital. organised by the central youth and sports division.
Additionally, a nationwide call has been issued to observe the Great Victory Day on 16 December with due respect through discussion meetings, rallies, and prayers, while reaffirming the commitment to protect Bangladesh’s independence, sovereignty, and the establishment of human rights.
Shafiqur also mentioned that ‘Martyrs Intellectuals Day’ and ‘Great Victory Day’ are two very important and significant days in the history of the Bengali nation. These two days are eternal symbols of sacrifice, struggle, and glory in the nation’s history.
He also paid deep respect and gratitude to the martyrs who sacrificed their invaluable lives for the independence and sovereignty of the country, including the martyrs of the intellectuals and the freedom fighters who participated in the Liberation War.
