The 11-party electoral alliance, comprising Jamaat-e-Islami and likeminded parties, has begun a press conference to announce the final seat-sharing agreement, without the inclusion of Islami Andolan Bangladesh.
This press conference began at 8:40pm on Thursday at the Diploma Engineers Institute auditorium in the capital.
Present at the press conference were Shafiqur Rahman of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, LDP Chairman Colonel (Retd) Oli Ahmed, Bangladesh Khilafat Majlis Ameer Mamunul Haque, NCP Convener Nahid Islam, National Democratic Party (JAGPA) Vice President Rashed Praman, Bangladesh Development Party (BDP) Chairman Anwarul Islam Chand, AB Party Chairman Majibur Rahman Manju, Khilafat Majlis Secretary General Ahmad Abdul Qader, along with other top leaders of the alliance.
Earlier throughout the day, various dramatic events unfolded. In particular, uncertainty was created over whether Islami Andolan Bangladesh would remain in the alliance or not.
Ultimately, the party did not attend the press conference. Central leaders of the alliance parties are delivering speeches.
They will announce shortly which party received how many seats.
Meanwhile, Islami Andolan Bangladesh has called for a press conference at its Paltan office on Friday at 3:30pm.
