Directed by AJ Kardar, the acclaimed film ‘Jago Hua Savera;, which won the Gold Medal at the Moscow International Film Festival, was screened at 4 pm on September 20, at the Russian House (formerly the Russian Cultural Center) in Dhanmondi. The screening was organized by the Sergei Bondarchuk Film Club.

The screening was part of a two-day special event, ‘Celebrating Cinema’, held in collaboration with Enigma TV to mark the club’s 30th anniversary. The event used a DCP (Digital Cinema Package) format and a 7.1 sound system to provide a modern cinematic experience.

The program also featured three masterclasses, where Director Nurul Alam Atiq conducted a session on Russian Classics, Professor Abdus Selim on Russian Literature and Professor Syed Jamal Ahmed on Stanislavsky’s method acting.

Alongside Jago Hua Savera, the film exhibition showcased seven local and international films, including Bangladesh’s ‘From Surma’, ‘Peyarar Subas’, ‘Aam Kathaler Chhuti’; China’s ‘Yuan Shang’; the Mexico-Qatar co-production ‘Verguenza’; and Russia’s ‘A Siege Diary’.
