Actress Rumana Rashid Ishita remains popular with audiences despite staying away from regular acting. She continues to have a strong following at home and abroad, with many fans eager to see her back on screen. But Ishita says she will return only when she finds a compelling story and a role she believes in.
Her last acting appearance came in Mizanur Rahman Aryan’s drama Not Out. Made several years ago, the production earned her praise. She received several scripts afterwards, but none managed to win her over.
“I last acted in Aryan’s Not Out and received a very good response for the drama. After that, many people sent me scripts for acting. But, overall, I did not like any of them. That is why audiences have not seen me acting for the past few years,” Ishita said.
She remains open to returning to the screen if the right project comes along.
“If I get a good script, I will definitely act. Why not? I want to act. But how can I do it without a good story and a beautiful character?” she said.
Ishita celebrates her birthday today. She has no special plans and will spend the day with her family. She also asked everyone to pray for her.
“There is no special plan for my birthday. I will probably spend the day with my family. I ask everyone to pray for me. May Allah keep me well and healthy,” she said.
Beyond acting, Ishita has also earned recognition as a television director. She has also released several original songs as a singer, receiving love from audiences and listeners.
Throughout her long career, Ishita has carved out a distinct place in audiences’ hearts through her individuality and acting style. She remains an inspiration not only to artists of her generation but also to those who came after her.
