Intertek has expanded its testing and certification capabilities in Bangladesh with the launch of new hardlines, toys and calibration laboratories at its Gazipur facility. The move broadens the company’s support for manufacturers, exporters and retailers seeking compliance with international safety and quality standards.
The laboratories provide testing, inspection and certification for toys, homeware, cookware, packaging, candles, luggage, ceramics, tents and other hardline products. They are equipped to assess products against EN 71, ASTM F963, CPSIA 2008, ISO 8124 and GB 6675 standards, offering end-to-end quality and performance validation for consumer and industrial sectors.
Ajay Kapoor, Intertek’s Regional Managing Director for South Asia, said the expansion represents continued investment in the region’s manufacturing base and will allow customers to test locally while meeting global requirements. Country Managing Director Neyamul Hasan said the added capabilities strengthen Bangladesh’s role as a sourcing and manufacturing hub and will improve service speed and compliance assurance.
Intertek Bangladesh operates under its Assurance, Testing, Inspection and Certification framework, supporting clients on safety, quality and sustainability.
