Inqilab Moncho will hold a protest rally at Dhaka University (DU) after Jummah prayers today, demanding a full investigation into alleged Indian involvement in the killing of its spokesperson Sharif Osman Bin Hadi.
The rally will begin from the DU Central Mosque, the organisation said in a Facebook post on Friday morning.
The platform also called for identifying local perpetrators, updating government efforts to bring back fugitive suspects from India, and ensuring a speedy trial in the case.
In addition to Dhaka, the organisation will also stage protest rallies in Rangpur and Sylhet. These will be organised by its Begum Rokeya University, Rangpur unit and Shahjalal University of Science and Technology unit.
Hadi was shot by assailants at Box Culvert Road under Paltan Model Police Station in Dhaka on 12 December last year, a day after the schedule for the 13th parliamentary election was announced.
He was first taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital. Later, he was shifted to Evercare Hospital and then flown to Singapore for advanced treatment.
Hadi died on the night of 18 December while undergoing treatment at Singapore General Hospital.
Following the shooting, Inqilab Moncho Member Secretary Abdullah Al Jaber filed an attempted murder case at Paltan Police Station on 14 December. The case was later converted into a murder case after his death.
