Inqilab Moncho has started a “March for Justice” programme demanding justice for Shaheed Sharif Osman Hadi. Leaders of the organisation stated they will continue this programme over the coming days.
On Saturday afternoon, the organisation’s leaders and activists toured various points of the city on a truck. The March for Justice programme started on Farmgate and concluded at Shahbagh.
At the time, the organisation’s Publication Secretary Fahim Rahman said they would continue this programme until 7 January, before the charge sheet for the Hadi murder case is submitted.
Within this period, Inqilab Moncho will sit with several political parties regarding its four-point demands. The announcement of a major movement could come from there.
Their demands include bringing all those involved in the killing—such as the shooters, planners, accomplices, those who aided the escape, and those who provided shelter—to justice within 24 days.
They also called for the cancellation of work permits for all Indian nationals residing in Bangladesh.
Additionally, the platform demanded that if India refuses to repatriate the accused, who allegedly fled and found shelter there, Bangladesh should file a case against India at an international court.
They further called for the identification, arrest, and prosecution of what they described as fascist elements allegedly hiding within the civil-military intelligence.
On 12 December, Osman Hadi was shot while returning home in a rickshaw. He was first taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH). When his condition did not improve, he was transferred to Evercare Hospital in the capital.
Subsequently, for more advanced treatment, he was taken to Singapore via air ambulance. However, he passed away at Singapore General Hospital around 9:30pm on 18 December.
