The International Crimes Tribunal (ICT)-1 on Thursday fixed 14 January for delivering its order on the framing of charges against dismissed Major General Ziaul Ahsan in a case involving allegations of enforced disappearances and the killing of more than a hundred people.
The two-member tribunal, headed by Justice Md Golam Mortuza Mazumder, set the date after the prosecution sought formal charge framing, while the defence appealed for the accused’s discharge from the case.
Chief Prosecutor Muhammad Tajul Islam represented the prosecution, and senior advocate Mansurul Haque Chowdhury appeared on behalf of Ziaul Ahsan.
Earlier, on 17 December, 2025, the prosecution submitted a formal charge sheet, bringing three specific counts against the former Director General of the National Telecommunication Monitoring Centre (NTMC) Ziaul Ahsan.
Ziaul Ahsan is currently in custody and is facing trial in multiple cases over allegations of abduction, torture, enforced disappearance, killings, and other crimes against humanity.
