Allegations have surfaced regarding the circulation of fraudulent job advertisements on social media through a fake website created under the name of BRAC.
Operating under the title “BRAC School,” the counterfeit portal claims to recruit candidates for over 1,000 posts and demands a “registration fee” of Tk350 from selected applicants.
The fake website advertises positions including “Regional Education Officer,” “Education Coordinator,” and “Assistant Teacher.” In addition to demanding money, the site features photos and fabricated quotes of BRAC’s Executive Editor Asif Saleh and other officials.
Issuing a warning in a post on his social media account, Saleh alerted the public to the fake website school.bracedu.net, clarifying that BRAC has no association with it and describing the operation as a complete scam.
He emphasised that BRAC never charges any money for job applications, registration, examinations, or appointments. He urged the public to treat any demand for money under BRAC’s name – whether through bKash, Nagad, or any other medium – as fraudulent.
Saleh further confirmed that legal assistance is being sought regarding the incident. Reiterating official policy, he stated that all legitimate BRAC job circulars are published exclusively on BRAC’s official website (brac.net) and its verified social media pages.
He advised job seekers not to share personal information or send money to fake websites and requested the public to share his post to help alert prospective applicants.
