Engineering and technology solutions company ICE Technologies Founder and CEO Rubaiyat Jamil died on Friday while playing a cricket match in Hathazari, Chattogram.
He was 46.
He was the only son of late Mahbub Jamil, former Special Assistant to the Chief Adviser in 2008-09 and Chairman of Singer Bangladesh Ltd.
Rubaiyat Jamil was involved in multiple ventures spanning technology, food retail, elevators and escalators, and industrial cooling solutions.
He served as a former Director of Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce and Industry Dhaka and was a member of International Chamber of Commerce Bangladesh, German Chamber of Commerce and Industries, Bangladesh Association of Software and Information Services, Gulshan Club, International Club Dhaka, Gulshan Youth Club, and Savar Golf Club.
He was also a passionate cricketer and represented Bangladesh in the under-16 and under-19 teams in the 1990s.
He is survived by his mother, sister, wife, three daughters, and numerous relatives and friends.
His Namaz-e-Janazah will be held on Sunday after Zuhr prayers at Gulshan Azad Mosque, followed by burial at Banani Graveyard.
