State Minister for Civil Aviation and Tourism M Rashiduzzaman Millat announced on Thursday that the Third Terminal of Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (HSIA) will be inaugurated by the end of this year.

The state minister shared this information at the Secretariat following a meeting with Prime Minister Tarique Rahman.

During the meeting, the prime minister provided several directives and suggestions specifically aimed at alleviating passenger suffering.

Addressing the financial condition of the national flag carrier, Millat said corruption within Biman is being thoroughly investigated. He asserted that the airline would no longer incur losses.

Regarding the tourism sector, the state minister detailed plans to transform Cox’s Bazar, the Sundarbans, and Kuakata into attractive tourist cities. The government intends to develop these sites under the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model to ensure they become profitable.

The state minister expressed his vision for these developments to encourage people to visit destinations within Bangladesh rather than travelling to places like Darjeeling.
