Light to moderate rain, sometimes accompanied by gusty winds and thunder, is expected to sweep across much of the country.
In the north and northeast regions, Rangpur, Mymensingh and Sylhet, the downpour could intensify into heavy to very heavy showers, turning routine forecasts into a reminder of the monsoon’s power.
The forecast, issued for the next 24 hours from 9am Monday, said the monsoon is fairly active over Bangladesh and moderate over the North Bay.
Many areas of Rangpur, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions, and some areas of Rajshahi, Dhaka, Khulna, Barishal and Chattogram divisions, likely to see light to moderate rain or thundershowers with temporary gusty winds.
Day and night temperatures across the country are expected to remain nearly unchanged.
On Tuesday (4 August), many areas of Rangpur, Rajshahi, Mymensingh, Dhaka, Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions may see light to moderate rain or thundershowers with temporary gusty winds, the Met Office said.
At the same time, moderate to heavy rainfall may occur at places in the country. Day and night temperatures are expected to fall slightly nationwide.
