Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has advised inland river ports in several regions to hoist cautionary signal number 1 due to the likelihood of squally winds and thundershowers.

According to a special weather bulletin valid from 5am to 1pm on Thursday, gusty or squally winds from the west or north-west are expected to blow at speeds of 45 to 60 km per hour over the regions of Rangpur, Dinajpur, Rajshahi, Tangail, Mymensingh, Dhaka, Cumilla, and Sylhet. Rain or thundershowers are also anticipated in these areas during this period.

The BMD also warned that moderately heavy to very heavy rainfall may occur in certain areas within the Rangpur, Rajshahi, Mymensingh, and Sylhet divisions. Meanwhile, day and night temperatures across the country are expected to remain nearly unchanged.
