Member of Parliament Hasnat Abdullah went live on Facebook late Tuesday night to discuss development initiatives and administrative measures in his constituency, Debidwar, Cumilla.
During the session, he announced the launch of a dedicated Facebook page, “Accountability”, designed to track project allocations, progress, and government assistance, reinforcing transparency in governance.
Hasnat, who took oath on 17 February, said the past three weeks have been spent reviewing local development projects, administrative structures, and public service delivery. He assured residents that all government initiatives will be fully documented and accessible to the public.
Highlighting poor road conditions as a major concern, Hasnat said several roads under the Roads and Highways Department, LGED, and PIO office are now under repair. Contractors have been instructed to maintain quality and finish projects on time, with no tolerance for delays.
Ahead of Eid, he confirmed government allocations of 3,081 VGF cards for Debidwar Municipality and 20,635 cards across 15 unions. Each card entitles beneficiaries to 10 kg of rice. Local representatives have been directed to ensure proper distribution.
Hasnat also outlined infrastructure improvements under the KABIKHA (Food for Work) programme, including 10 projects and the re-excavation of two canals.
During the live session, he urged local officials and representatives to fully cooperate and warned against corruption or malpractice among administrators and secretaries.
He emphasised that the ultimate goal is to ensure government services reach citizens efficiently and effectively.
