Law enforcement agencies in Madaripur have intensified security measures to prevent any unrest as the International Crimes Tribunal is set to deliver verdict in a crimes against humanity case against deposed prime minister Sheikh Hasina on Monday.

Four platoons of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) have been deployed alongside the army, police, and Rapid Action Battalion (RAB).

Since Sunday night, security forces have been patrolling key points across Madaripur town, the Dhaka–Bhanga Expressway, and other key areas in the district.

Meanwhile, local BNP activists have taken positions on parts of the expressway in an effort to prevent acts of sabotage.
