The interim government has called upon everyone to refrain from all kinds of unauthorised public gatherings and movements after the announcement of the parliamentary election schedule.
This call was made at a meeting of the Ministry of Home Affairs on Tuesday afternoon on the instructions of the chief adviser.
The meeting stated that the primary goal of the interim government is to ensure that the 13th national election is free, fair, impartial, acceptable, and festive. For organising a good election, the government is focusing on all necessary tasks.
After the schedule announcement, all forces, including the armed forces, engaged in maintaining law and order will work to ensure a conducive environment for the election. Nearly nine lakh members from all forces will be on this law and order duty, which is the highest number so far.
In such a situation, the interim government will strictly control any kind of illegal and unauthorised public gatherings or movements causing public inconvenience from the schedule announcement until the election.
Home Affairs Adviser Jahangir Alam Chowdhury said that over the past one and a half years, agitators have organised more than two thousand movements and protests, presenting demands to the interim government.
The government has always responded to just demands, trying to reach solutions through dialogue with the agitators. But the government is now in an election-oriented period.
Therefore, the Home Affairs adviser called on everyone to present their demands to the next government.
