There is no security concern for anyone in Bangladesh, Home Affairs Adviser Md Jahangir Alam Chowdhury said on Tuesday. He stated that the Ministry of Home Affairs is prepared for everyone.
He made the remarks while speaking to journalists at the Secretariat.
Responding to a question about security for BNP’s acting chairman Tarique Rahman if he returns to the country, he said, “There has been no discussion about his return. There is no security threat to anyone in Bangladesh.”
Reiterating that the Home Ministry is ready for all, he said, “Especially for those who require it, whatever special measures are needed, we are prepared to provide them.”
He also spoke about the upcoming election. Referring to media reports, he said that risk-areas have been identified based on published news, adding, “The number of risk-areas may change. The final count will be announced later according to the list.”
