The government has appointed administrators to 14 additional Zila Parishads (district councils), according to a gazette notification issued Tuesday by the Local Government Division.
Md Afzal Hossain Khan Palash was appointed to Faridpur, while Md Yasin Ferdous to Dhaka, Chowdhury Ishraq Ahmad Siddiqui to Gazipur, Tofazzal Hossain to Narsingdi, Jamilur Rashid Khan to Manikganj, Prof MA Khalek to Feni, AKM Selim Ullah Selim to Chandpur, Md Mizanur Rahman Chowdhury to Nilphamari, AKM Mominul Haque to Lalmonirhat, Mohammad Zahurul Islam to Pabna, Md Mostafizur Rahman Alek to Narail, Md Nazrul Islam Molla to Barguna, Md Sirajul Haque to Jamalpur and Ahmed Ali to Habiganj.
With the latest appointments, administrators have now been named to 56 Zila Parishads. Earlier, on 15 March, administrators were appointed to 42 parishads.
The gazette stated that the appointed administrators will exercise the full powers and responsibilities of parishad chairmen until further orders.
