BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said there has been no significant improvement in the country’s law and order situation so far, describing the failure to recover illegal weapons as a government failure.
He made the remarks while speaking to journalists at his residence in Thakurgaon on Monday morning.
“We are very concerned, and this is a failure of the government,” he said.
He said the BNP remains hopeful that the overall situation will improve during the election period.
He said the election environment has been good so far, adding that the situation will become clearer once campaigning begins.
District BNP General Secretary Poygam Ali and leaders and activists of the party’s associate bodies were present at the programme.
