Gourab Singh and Abdul Jahir Tanvir clinched the men’s doubles crown at the Yonex–Sunrise Bangladesh International Series 2025, edging past compatriots Mizanur Rahman and Rahatun Naim in a thrilling three-set final on 26 December 2025.
The final, staged at the Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmed Indoor Stadium in Paltan, lived up to expectations as both pairs produced a high-quality contest marked by momentum swings and tight finishes. Gourab and Tanvir eventually prevailed 21–19, 17–21, 22–20 to secure the title.
The opening set was evenly poised throughout, with neither pair able to establish clear control. After the scores were locked at 18–18, Gourab and Tanvir found the decisive points to pull away and take the first set 21–19.
Mizanur and Naim responded strongly in the second set. With the score tied at 15–15, they capitalised on a brief lapse from their opponents and closed out the set 21–17, restoring parity and setting up a tense decider.
The third set began with Mizanur and Naim edging ahead, but Gourab and Tanvir showed resilience to recover a two-point deficit and draw level at 17–17. They then moved 19–17 in front, only for their opponents to fight back once more. In a dramatic finish, Gourab and Tanvir held their nerve to win the deciding set 22–20 and seal the championship.
Elsewhere in the tournament, India’s Tanvi Reddy claimed the women’s singles title with a straight-sets victory over Malaysia’s Lim Zhi Shin, winning 21–19, 21–9.
In the men’s singles final, Kazakhstan’s Dmitriy Panarin overcame Malaysia’s Mohammad Haris Sufian Rushdan in three sets, triumphing 21–16, 14–21, 21–10.
Thailand secured the women’s doubles title, while Malaysia emerged champions in the mixed doubles event, rounding off a competitive edition of the international series.
